After the withdrawal of the subsidy policy of replacing the old with the new for household appliances, the subsidy of replacing the old with the new for furniture has become the main direction for the relevant departments to promote consumption, and is based in Beijing to radiate the whole country. It is reported that Beijing's business department began to discuss various links of furniture manufacturing, circulation and recycling from February, and finally decided on the old-for-new model led by the store. At present, two sets of implementations of replacing old furniture with new furniture have been put on the table, and Beijing business department may issue specific rules in the near future.
These schemes come from the pre-sale practice, including the cooperation between the seller and the home improvement company and the waste furniture recycling company. When consumers have demand, they come to the door together. They choose to hold, sell or dispose of some old furniture according to the customers'wishes. The seller does not recycle the old furniture, but distributes a certain amount of subsidy vouchers according to the category of furniture. Consumers can rely on subsidies. Vouchers are discounted when shopping in stores. They also include recycling customers'old furniture, and shipping the old furniture to warehouses for classification and disassembly. They will use the furniture for secondary consumption. The rest will be disassembled and recycled by recycling companies.
Perhaps it smelled the trend of the policy. Two big furniture stores in Beijing, Star Mei Kailong and the unexpected home, started thinking early about replacing the old one with the new one.
On March 15, 2011, Red Star McLaren launched a program called "No Replacement, Red Star McLaren 100 million yuan Home Upgrade Subsidy" in Beijing, Shanghai and Chongqing, which distributes vouchers to consumers with improved needs to replace old furniture. Although there is no clear proposal to replace the old with the new, Wang Wei, general manager of Beijing, Shanghai and Southwest District of Red Star Meikailong, thinks that what they do is to replace the old with the new as a model of marketing, and the reason why they do not call it "replace the old with the new" is mainly "fear that consumers will think that the old furniture will be sold in the stores after recycling". Therefore, they do not recycle and the old furniture consumers will handle it by themselves.
In September of the same year, another furniture store giant in Beijing launched its "one-to-one" subsidy program, promising that customers who buy new furniture in five stores in Beijing will give the old furniture back to their home and receive a 5% subsidy.
At the beginning of this year, Jimei Home Furniture Co., Ltd. in Beijing also introduced the measure of replacing old furniture with new ones. According to the market price of consumer's old furniture, the premium of "home purchase vouchers" of 2 to 3 times the amount is recovered. At the same time, the purchase of home purchase vouchers can be reduced by 100 yuan on the basis of the transaction price of 1000 yuan.
On May 10, Wang Wei, general manager of Red Star Mei Kailong Southwest Beijing-Shanghai District, told this report that since February this year, the Beijing Business Committee began to investigate the stores, and convened the main bodies of manufacturing, circulation, recycling and other links to meet and discuss, and eventually passed this idea to the Ministry of Commerce. Shen Danyang, a spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce, said in March that the Ministry of Commerce actively supports local pilot projects to replace old furniture with new furniture. If the pilot projects are good, they can be promoted throughout the country.
Industry insiders revealed that after the early practice, which model will be the ultimate standard or will be based on market acceptance and sustainability. On May 10, Red Star McLaren and the head of the unexpected family told this report that with the accumulation of the previous period, the introduction of this policy is just around the corner.
Problems to be solved
Unlike the replacement of household appliances with the old, the replacement of furniture with the old faces more challenges. In fact, the replacement of old furniture for new furniture from recycling pricing to terminal treatment and other aspects are facing difficulties.
Wang Wei said that the standardization of household appliances is stronger, so it is easier to grasp the price when recycling. However, the pricing of old furniture can not be based solely on material. For example, "For example, a bed that has been sleeping for 30 years is not made of famous wood, even if its use value is not high, but people who own it have feelings for it, and its value can not be measured by the material itself."
The disposal of waste furniture is also more difficult than household appliances. Household appliances can be disassembled into metal materials for recycling, but the materials of furniture are more complex, and mainly wood, reuse is more difficult.
In addition, the storage after recycling is also a major problem. In a short period of time, thousands of pieces of old furniture occupied the 6,000 square meters of warehouse vacated by the home after the introduction of the service of replacing old ones with new ones. On February 17, this year, the Home rented 10,000 square meters of factory area and set up a furniture recycling and processing center for the recycling, storage, disassembly, decomposition and treatment of old furniture. On March 28, the Furniture Recycling and Disposal Center was put into use.
Despite many difficulties, the industry is still looking forward to this policy. Wang Wei said that five to eight years of furniture is an important replacement period. China has accumulated a lot of new demand since the large-scale construction of commercial housing around 2000. According to estimates, at present, more than 1 million sets of old furniture are eliminated in Beijing every year, which means that 1 million sets of new furniture will be added to the market every year. According to the current market price of at least 3000 yuan for each set of furniture, the market demand for replacement of old furniture in Beijing will exceed 3 billion yuan every year.
At present, the subsidy fee of the self-propelled furniture exchange for the old is paid by the sellers themselves. For them, if they can get the government financial subsidy as soon as possible, it is undoubtedly a great advantage.
